I was looking at your insect pics in the other thread, Nuke, and I was thinking to myself, "somebody posted a freaky close-up of an iris somewhere, was it on Facebook or..?" and then here I see it was you. You must be into freaky natural closeups recently, eh?

Macro Photography has caught the attention of many people who without the aid of a microscope have never actually seen the surfaces in extreme close up, that they only assumed were uniform and inherently lacking in interest.
In the case of insects, seeing a butterfly's wing covered in brilliant parrot-like "feathers" takes people by surprise! or as observed in 'the other thread' become instantly recognizeable as the inspiration for Geiger, and to the movie "Alien".
