An alternative might be The Bengal now that there are more of them they've come down in price.

Although every individual will have a unique personality, doing the research prior to buying or adopting helps you to know in advance the characteristic quirks regarding health, temperament & what you're letting yourself in for.
A cool cat, but IMO have her go to the local animal shelter and rescue an abandoned kitty that is going to be put down. Just take her there to look at them, she'll probably fall in love with one of the poor little things.
Unless one needs a specific critter, like one that is non-allergenic, there are so many dogs and cats being put down every day there are plenty to be had without needing animal mills.

Agreed, Jim. There are some beautiful purebreds, but the kitten at the shelter is the cutest of them all.

Yes. We have one old (about 16 years old) cat, Scout, and I don't feel it's fair to her to bring a new cat into the house while she's with us. I hope we don't get a cat for a long while.

She has two cats. Has no problem with pet cats but the Savannah is different. It's not a tabby. It's a hybrid. It has a much different personality than domestic cats. It's much like a dog. A tabby doesn't connect to its owner like a dog. It acts like the owner is just part of its territory . Doesn't respond generally when called. A savannah can be trained to do so.
Much of how it acts is depended on which ratio of Serval to domestic mix it is.
