If it weren't for Geezers and old Fogerty's I'd never see another concert.

Seriously frown
We saw Roger Waters in '04 on his 61st B'Day
during a brief lull between two songs I yelled;
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ROG!" cry
he gave a small smile and said, 'Thank You' smile

apparently the kids didn't have a clue.

The last time I saw Pink Floyd, a kid
sat down behind us, leaned forward and
asked, "Which one is Dave Gilmour?" shocked
I handed him my monocular saying, "See
that fat ol' man in the tee-shirt? ...that's
who you spent your paper-money to see."

Another time we were seeing Pink Floyd in
Yankee Stadium, and they were in the middle
of "Astronomy Domine" when a kid next to Ted
asks him, "Is THIS From Their NEW Album?" smile
When Ted stopped laughing he said, "Kid,
THIS was "New" when I was Your Age!" grin

Another time we were in MSGarden to
see The Moody Blues and Donovan was the
opening act. The kid behind us blurted out,
"WHO IS DIS GUY?!?" cry I almost hit him!

** The "Geezer Version"
...some things improve with age. wink

Very enjoyable, Celandine. Stills can still carry a tune.

I use to get a kick out of watching the PBS old rock and roll, doowop reunion shows, seeing the old groups doing their stuff again but for the most part most of them have lost both their hearing and vocal range, to the point that it has an adverse effect on the show

His Latest Album/CD called
"John Fogerty, Made Songs For Everyone"
(samples available in the iTunes Store)

in which John plays with various other
Big-Name Stars. cool cool

J.F. has lost neither his touch nor appeal smile

GOODONIM!

I still like watching those, but the problems of age are a reminder that I'm not young anymore.

When singing or playing, practice can help, but can't always accomplish everything.

There's an album from the '70s called "After the Ball" with Joan Morris (voice) and Robert Bolcom (piano). Morris' singing on that album was totally outstanding - beautiful and amazing.

I've not heard much of her since, though I understand she and Bolcom are still active.

About ten years ago one of my brothers claimed she was losing some of her ability to sing due to age. This happens to most of us, I think, to a lesser or greater degree depending on practice, events in our lives, and whatever gifts God has given us.

When I listen to my voice-mail recordings at work, I hear my Dad's voice when he was getting up in years. A reminder that time marches on.

BTW, Papa, congrats on doing your will. A good thing to do, in my opinion. smile

Thanks. I went in and finished the papers this morning. I spent two days on the phone making sure that everything had a POD or TOD on file. We very seldom get any warning when our life contract is running out. Might as well do it when we can.

I have seen what happens when someone dies without a will. It is time consuming and expensive to deal with. We had a friendly lawyer that helped keep the cost down but it still took almost 2 years to fix everything.
