Okay, here's what I want to do:<br><br>Install one copy of PS7 for use in both OS9 and X<br>Install one copy of Illustrator 10 for use in both OS9 and X<br><br>So do I:<br><br>Install the software in OS9, to be sure to get all the System related stuff installed as well - and then install AGAIN in OSX - over the other install - to get any system-related stuff installed in X?<br><br>Or does OSX need system-related files (i.e. can it just run from the OS9 install)?<br><br>TIA!<br><br>(cross-posted to the appropriate forum at MC, but I have my doubts =)<br><br>***matt<br><br>

Well, I know that installing them from OSX will leave out some support files for OS9 - color space profiles and the like ...<br><br>I guess I just need to know if an install in OS9 will include support files needed for OSX (if any) ...<br><br>Thanks for the response - you beat the MC Graphics forum!<br><br>=D<br><br>***matt<br><br>

Hi Guys, I dont really have an answer to your question, but I can tell you that I am running OS9/X on my G4 and I have installed Illust 10 and Photo 7 OS9 and everything is working ok for me. <br><br><br>

So the reason that the apps didn't have the correct resources in OS9 is ... I deleted them ... (duh!) ...<br><br>I had just re-initialized my OS9 disk and installed a fresh OS - the resources that PS and Ilustrator had installed were erased with the initialization ...<br><br>d'oh!<br><br>I'll go stand in a corner now ...<br><br>Also, I found-out that if you install PS7 in OS9 and then want to use it in ten, there is an "upgrade from OS9 to OSX" application that you run in X that will install the appropriate resources for PS7 to run natively in OSX ... it's part of the custom install options in the OSX PS7 installer ...<br><br>FWIW,<br><br>=)<br><br>***matt<br><br>
