Using Chrome, this is what I did:

First, I clicked the Register link:

Then it took me to this window. I filled out the part on the right.

Then I logged in to the forums.

Okay, I see now, the Register User link from the main forum page works.

Log Out, then click the Log In link. Go to register here on the log in window page, it takes you to MacNews to register which is a different registration page. It registers you for the websites, but the registration doesn't populate from there to the forums.

Such is so...

When I asked Bird
that was what she had done,
if you try logging in from the MainPage,
AppleCentral... the Log-In takes you in an
infinite loop of denying your Log-In Info.
Throughout which you are unable to access
the POSTING OPTIONS.

Ms.Bird was finally able to Log-In using
an older version of Safari thru MacTech.
The other member gave up until the issue's
resolved, or a work-around is worked out.

Do you mean she tried from this AppleCentral page? If so where did she go from there.

If you meant the forum main page and not the AppleCentral page (the forum software automatically makes AppleCentral a link) what link did she click on that didn't work, does she remember?

Thanks.

≈

I stupidly clicked on all 3 links
created by typing the words... cry

But I can't be sure...
it's difficult being a non-tech-savvy go-between
when no two member-wannabees are together at any given time. frown

One thing we might try is for ME to create an account,
get a password, then allow the member-wannabee
to take over the account & Change the Password.

For that matter... couldn't you do the same
thing, and "cut-out-the-middle-man"? laugh

We could do something like that. I'll be in touch later tonight. PM what user name you want it to be.

Don't feel slighted...
She didn't call either of us.

It was me who initiated a call
A) because I was missing her, &
B) because I know she'd been having problems
with her old "Toilet-Seat" and updating FireFox.

When she hadn't poked her beak in after
such a long time, I reckoned it was time
to check in to make sure everything was OK. smile
