Thanx 4 the link, I went to YouTUBE and listened to a few more of Mr. Wise's lectures on racism & white privedge... it occurred to me pretty early on that it reminded me of the rolling rowe I had with my mum.
Yeah... ...this is one long-over-due conversation.
I'd like to see his sources and read up some, especially more on the transition from more indentured servants to slaves. I read about this in history books years ago, but would like to read more. Anyway, thought provoking stuff.

Indenturing was a little bit like internships now, except you were contracted to the employer for a set number of years. On completion of the indenture you were usually considered a journeyman in whatever craft the indenture involved. The practice continued well into the 19th century in England, but I don't know what happened in the US.
