For me it's not the thought of falling out of the sky, it's the thought of getting into that small enclosed tube called a fuselage with no personal control. Then there's the issue of my need to occupy a bathroom for a good period of time

Generally I do not like heights...except when I am in an airplane...does not bother me a bit...back in the late '60's and early '70s I owned a small airplane, use to fly every week end...eyes went bad so I could not get FAA license renewed, sold the plane and left the air travel up to TWA...
