I really thought you were a decent person with some of your remarks but now I am seeing who i am dealing with really. A pompous person who is in plain words a wise ass!

Most people get that early on. I am an unabashed and unapologetic ball-buster. And if I'm gonna make an ass of myself, I'd rather be the wise one than the dumb one. Deal with it.
I'm gonna side with Steve on this one. Obama being POTUS should have nil impact on using the N word ... or anything else like it. That's akin to being at a party and saying.. "Hey guys, we better watch what we say... there's 3 black people here tonight".

The N word was a no no when I was a kid (though some people said it simply for it's shock value). But then again, Iowa at that time, and until very recently, "was as white as the driven snow" as one political commentator said as he marveled at Obama's victory there. Even if you wanted to use the word there was no one to direct it at.

I had never heard of Paula Deen until all this N word stuff came up. On a short peruse of articles, it seems like her business partner brother is/was the real problem.

Her usage of the word came out in court when she was asked under oath if she every used the word. She told the truth ! A lady who once worked for them was suing their company (Uncle Bubba's in Savannah, GA) over abuse and use of abusive language with employees at the restaurant... I think you're right her brother was more of a culprit than she, BUT she's his partner and so she gets sued too !
