Nana, the price of spectacles are ridiculous.
We spend 15 minutes at the optometrist (Does this look better, or this?), and have to decide on a prescription that will work, or not.
The bifocals I have are a joke.
Everyone thinks I'm pointing my nose at them, but I'm only tying to focus! smile

What a co-inky-dink!

I recently found out that fried bananas
were actually Plantains.. the most available
of which was named after the bloke who'd first
introduced them into England ...a man
named Mr. Johnson... whistle

My initial reaction was:
"Thank you for the explanation, since I might
have naturally thought the name was derived
from their approximate size and shape."

only to be corrected;
"I think it's the other way around--the Johnson
got its name from the platano Johnson.

blush oh!

If you buy on line, how does one adjust the placement of the tri-focal lens or the prism I need because of my stigmatism

On-Line is not for everyone, but if you don't have special needs, it saves lots of $$$.
I think you're stuck with the optometrist, but I'd check with some on line firms first. Is that data in your Rx ?? I ask because I think my son just sent them the written Rx and they did the rest. In many states, it's the Law; they have to give you a copy of the Rx (so they can't hold you captive).

Tried to get the Rx from my eye dr...said no unless it was just for personal use...what???? meaning you can have a copy but it can not be filled...lotta good that will do if I break a pair on an out of state trip and need them filled right then and there
