I believe Australia (and probably not just there) requires people by law to vote. Not sure what I think about that, but it is an interesting idea. I can imagine outrage at such an idea in America already.

That's what I was thinking back in 2000... ...consider how different history might've been.
I was strongly in favor of VP. Al Gore, and as a staunch environmentalist, was looking forward to SOMETHING Finally Getting Done to increase mankind's dwindling chances for survival on what's left of Earth.
...I switched off the TV just as the Balloons and Confetti began to fall from the ceiling... everyone was grinning and champagne corks were popping!
The next morning I woke up to this ongoing nitemare.
Interesting; The only member of the UK on that map is Australia I do know they require FULL Participation at even the most local shire & hamlet elections.

I didn't vote in the last election. I had voted for Obama in 2008, I was hoping the Repubs would have a viable candidate in 2012 but that didnt work out.
