My dogwood is not pink nor white. Rather it looks like a very light greenish white color. It blooms after all regular colored dogwoods have passes. I call it my Jesus tree because for some reason I have difficulty remembering the name "dogwood".

Palm Springs in So. California.

This canyon view is from a trail about 1/2 mile down the street

further up that trail is a palm oasis with water, almost dry now in May.

It's a much hardier, insect & disease resistant variety
of dogwood called a "Kousa Dogwood" that nurseries
have been encouraging people to plant rather than
the more familiar native that's being decimated
across the country by fungal disease.

BONUS: the fruit is edible as well

Thanks for the info, Cel. I've seen the fruit but never tasted it.

Good tree for my clay soil too.

Do you use PhotoBucket?

It's FREE quick as a wink when you get used to it. wink

I use Tinypic.com, it's free and simple with no sign-up.
(In the 'captcha' part of the upload, just keep clicking to refresh until it asks a simple text answer rather than watching an ad.)

I'll wait a week and then assign another homework - but more contributions welcome! PS - I use photobucket as well.
