I would bring it into a Apple Provider to see what is wrong.

I don't get anything form Amazon when I look at a link of theirs... unless I am signed in. Are you signed in 24/7? Just curious.

I guess the OP wasn't as upset over the malfunctioning dvd player as I thought... he hasn't even checked back to see what help we may give him.

Of course, in my experience the optical drives on computers are always one of the first components to fail.

Yeah, unless you go with the tower they're POS laptop drives.

Mine didn't... but it's 4-5 years old.

Read my post again. Wear your glasses this time.

They use laptop drives in everything except the towers is another way to put it. smile

Then you should have added another comma smarty pants.

Yeah, unless you go with the tower they're POS laptop drives.

is different than

Yeah, unless you go with the tower, they're POS laptop drives.

Hmmm ...

Yeah, unless you go with the tower (they're POS laptop drives)

or

Yeah, unless you go with the tower -- they're POS laptop drives.

Is how you're interpreting things. But I'm thinking no punctuation at all was correct usage for what Jim meant to convey ...

But to be honest, they both read pretty much the same ... the comma you added seems more a phrasing pause than an actual change of meaning ...

Of course, "Yeah, they're POS laptop drives unless you go with the tower" might have been less ambiguous to begin with =)

Actually, with the extra comma I read it as the towers have POS laptop drives.

I am so confused. grin
