If you like the occasional post-apocolyptic future Earth flick well done — as I do — this works. Interesting-ish story, predictable in some spots with a few unexpected twists, decent and not overdone CGI and special effects. Not sure why Morgan Freeman opted in, and Tom Cruise is Tom Cruise. But good entertainment none-the-less.
Loc: Alexandria, VA
I just saw this -- definitely glad I saw it in a theater, the CGI is very well done and pretty gorgeous cinematography. I'm actually thinking the IMAX might be worth it.
Good pacing and directing, nice acting (Morgan Freeman being Morgan Freeman, Tom Cruise being a bit more subtle Tom Cruise, which is nice), a few plot hiccups and a couple "oh really?" moments, but not enough to shake you out of the film. Good use of the two main twists of the film, I thought, and very engaging ...
Overall, I actually feel it was worth the $12 to see it, which is saying something these days =)
