For some reason this hasn't grown legs. It's been a week or so since it first came out but the only place I've seen anything other than locally is the Huffington Post. It so happens to be my Alma Mater.
I don't think what happened is right, I hope she wins. Here's the latest.

And why should she put up with such archaic intolerant bullish¡t? It's time to realize that people are people — period. And that includes the Diocese. Time to get w/the human program.
She knew the Church's stand on this topic. Why should she be an exception?
I guess the point is they are picking and choosing which morals clauses to uphold. For example they do nothing about teachers that get a divorce or have extramarital affairs, which are also against Catholic doctrine.
The woman was divorced while she was a teacher, but was not let go for that.

Just so I have this correct: She's gay and yet still took a job at a religious institution which frowns on her orientation? Sounds like her choice: archaic and intolerant bullsh!t comes with this particular job -- if she didn't want to put up with it, she shouldn't have applied in the first place ...
Yeah, the church are hypocritical dicks, but still I have to say I don't have a great deal of sympathy for her situation ...

No, she was married to a man when she took the job 19 years ago. Like I mentioned above she got divorced while she was working there, but they did not fire her for that even though divorce is also against Catholic doctrine.
