Rather unrelated to my quest to see if they could be potty trained ( probably not) But that Chimps have the largest testicles of all primates including humans and gorillas.
According to this, the size of the testicles is related to the amounts sperm they have available which is determined by how secure the male feels toward his mate(s).
Which has been shown in humans that if couples are separated longer times from each other , the male releases more sperm when they do couple. Which gives credence to the old adage. "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" really means his other organ grows more productive.

Here's a quote from the article:
"Females, although infinitely divine, are by nature notoriously fickle things. Females in species after species, primates and otherwise, hedge their reproductive bets by mating with whatever males they can find."
Here's my feminist-hat-wearing response: why is it that the female in this arrangement is "fickle," whereas the male who services the female is uncharacterized? It takes two to be fickle, doesn't it?

HUmm ?
IMO;
Males will screw anything that walks - where females are a bit more selective. You see this more so in birds where the males are adored in colors and do the courting.

Have you seen chimps? Female chimps in estrus will copulate with one after the other males that are near. You see adolescent ales hovering around them just waiting for a try

Remember the early planet of the apes films with gorillas be in the warrior class and chimps as the more settled calm group. Then it's been found they are just the opposite . gorillas are happy to set round all day munching on leaves, while chimps form up hunting parties or gangs to evade or raid other chimp communities. Often eating some of thier conquests. Rather vicious little critters. Especially the male adults.
