Well, for one thing, a .38 doesn't have a hell of a lot of stopping power. Even a .38 super doesn't deliver much knockdown punch because of relatively low muzzle velocity. And it was obviously a wheel gun (6 rounds, and without a reloader, a real PIA to refill). So yeah, why didn't she have an AR with a drum mag?

Of course, if she had time to hustle the kids into a crawl space, why didn't she have time to hustle them out the back door? And hubby is proud of her? Proud that she put those kids in harm's way — even though she was trying to protect them?

I'm glad she and her kids escaped unharmed. And I'm glad that the perp had a bad day after all. But the absurdity — the accolades — is just plain nuts!
