I have mixed emotions about farm subsidies. While they were intended to help out the mom-and-pop farms, today's agriculture is mainly run by corporations. So I view a lot of the farm subsidies as corporate welfare. I know it's not quite that simple, but the majority of the subsidies go to help corporations. If they could cut those out, I'd be all for keeping the private family farm subsidies. they DO need the help, especially competing against the multinational corporations.

Humm,
No matter which way you look at it , Corp -vs- small farm.
I have never understood why a (reusable) resource like milk and say Orange juice cost a whole lot more than a gallon of gas ? ? even with these subsidies.
I mean oil is gonna run out - cows and fruit tress can be re grown.
