I am well aware I do. It doesn't bother me when after I make a post, two weeks later it will have had 12 views and one response. It doesn't make me sad or stop me from making more boring posts I just like contributing and reading other persons boring posts too [j/k]
Well, a few times I make a post like this one and just over 24 hours later it has thousands of views!! Reboot explained once why that is but anyhoo, it is a kick in the pants and a wonderment.

Hmmmm.... I think maybe a catchy 'subject' line makes a difference? (I'm soooooo tempted now to try that now! Something along the line of 'Fiscal Cliff averted! Dems and Repubs finally agree! )
If you have text in the subject title or content that is popular the web search engine spider thingys pick up on it and index it so that when peeps Google stuff yours comes up as a hit. I think.
Most likely, it's because certain (possibly randomly chosen by keyword) forum posts get displayed on the front page of the MacTech site, which in turn also shows up in people's RSS feeds. That's a lot of eyeballs who just want to see what's going on. They don't respond because the target audience of the MacTech site are IT geeks and high-end users—which is decidedly NOT the demographic of these forums.
In short, "we bore the crap out of them."

You're right. All that "thumbs up" and "likes" are ridiculous. How can anybody fall for that stuff? We all know the only goal in life is to make it on the front page of Reddit.
If I lived my life worrying about how many views or responses I got to posts here or anywhere else, I wouldn't have much of a life.
Well, I hope you will not be shocked, but I do not have much of a life. I live for responses in this forum. I've done so much research on what may stimulate responses to my posts, and still I get no responses, NOR respect. If it continues much longer [another 13 years] I am going to quit the forum.
I would not call it boring per se ? We all have made post that got 0 responses over the years.
My view is that some post - not that it is boring, rather just that, I don't have anything to contribute.
I'm pretty sure you know I am kidding about the "boring post" or "not getting any responses." The phenomenon I am interested in is how certain posts get thousands of responses.
Good to see you posting anyway. I know you are occupied with the new "friend" in your life and wish you both a happy new year.

I have always been intrigued by obscure associations . Things like, " why do we park in a driveway and drive in a parkway?"
I live alone and need to share, so I post here. I figure others might wonder about things like that. Like my post recently about having ones mouth washed out with soap.
I think back about one I posted years ago about asking what direction one stirs coffee, clockwise or counter clockwise.

I never know what is going to get people's interest. Seems that less interest I actually have in the topic is the one people are going to grab onto. Might have something to do with living in Japan...

Example: After 3 years at bat, the ruling party was voted out and the party that has ruled Japan interrupted since WWII is back in power with a super majority. That is just so...Japan. And even Japanese people don't care much about this topic..another thing that is just so Japan.
..Thought about making this a new thread, but it wasn't worth the 11 views it would garner.
