I keep the Activity Monitor running on my computers--just for gits and shiggles--and I've noticed on my new MBP with a solid state drive that every so often the computer seems to purge the inactive memory all by itself. Is that a feature of the solid state drives? I don't think it's the OS, cause my desktop is running the same version of OSX and it doesn't purge memory on its own.
