I just bought an Airport Extreme card and installed it in my PowerPC G5, but nothing happens. The machine will not boot up. But when I take the card out, it does fine.
What info do you need to know before you can begin to help? I can't find out which version of G5 it is.
All I have is the info given on "About this Mac" 1.8Gb PowerPC G5 9.1 1 Gb DDR SDRam Serial number: G8521E1QQYU
From this, how do I tell which G5 I have?

If the machine did not come with an airport card you can't just put one in. It was a factory or Apple Tech installation only, it required more than just the card.
If you need wireless this should work. It should be plug and play, no driver needed. It does come with a driver CD though if you need one.
According to the Serial Number identifier, it's a Late 2004 model G5.
I already have several wireless cards distributed by TrendWare. This one look nearly exactly like one of them. Would one of the ones I have work? Or does it have to be made for Mac architecture?

I don't know whivj ones you have exactly, but just plug them in and try. If they fit it won't blow anything up even if they don't work.
