Another great one ! I'll always remember his role in The Wild Bunch. I think he's the last of the 4 main characters (William Holden, Warren Oates, and Ben Johnson) .
A friend of mine once met him. John M. was the son of an Arkansas Judge (major one) and got a private tour of the White House on a Sunday AM when those were reserved for "special guests" (you had to have connections). Well John did through is dad... There were about 5-6 of them and they were waiting for the last guest to arrive and what should pull up but a Limo from the Navy and out steps Mr Borgnine. He was doing something for them - Don't know (I'll have to ask) if this was during, or after McHale's Navy. Anyway John said he was very open and really a good guy.. didn't have the big head cause he was a star. Very humble & down to earth guy !
OK.. here goes. Good ole Ernest. I was rewatching a movie, a spy spoof, called RED tonight. 2nd time watching it and guess what? It has Ernest in it. A decent little role. This prompted me look up the movie date (2010) and that took me to IMDB. Ernest was kicking balls right to the end. 95 years old at death... and yet he had 4 projects in 2010 and 5 in 2011.
