Thanks, good info.

idisk was pretty easy for the person you're sending the files to to use. yousendit is probably just about as easy except for the requirement of the other side having to set up an account to upload files.

Not sure if this is helpful or not.

I see, thanks. What they want in the future is to make one sign up for Dropbox to use it. As it is now one doesn't need to be logged in or have an account to access a Public folder.

Nothing is free anymore.

Well, I've decided to go with a combo of DB (after all) and the FTP option in my Network Solutions hosting package. The free version of DB meets my needs, and the more clients and vendors I invite, the more storage I earn. No one client can see or access the others' folders, so I don't even need the public folder. I'm hosting images for CL ads and all of my images for this site on NetSol. My iDisk is empty now — broom-clean, as they say, so Apple can have the keys any time. grin

It makes sense, since you can link to any file in your DB.

Possible ways to send files to Dropbox.

SendtoDropbox http://sendtodropbox.com/
AirDropper https://airdropper.com/
FileStork <snip> blog from the site says the service is closing down edit by ~thightower
Dropittome http://dropitto.me
Jot Form / Dropbox Forms http://www.jotform.com/dropbox/
DeliverBox http://signup.deliverbox.net/ They say you can get links for files up to 5GB so the files don't actually get to your Dropbox

More may be listed in the Dropbox wiki http://www.dropboxwiki.com/

Awesome.
Perfect timing too.
Thank you so much!

I miss the old days when you had to know what you're doing before sending a file.
I just got a 96MB CMYK Photoshop file with 21 layers that I reduced to a 820K bitmap file.
Freakin' amateurs.

Mine too... nearly. Still a few files I'm dishing out to clients... then adios.
