Rick Santorum suspended his presidential campaign Tuesday, ending a dogged and increasingly Quixotic crusade to emerge as his party’s conservative champion and effectively handing the Republican presidential nomination to Mitt Romney.
Just curious but what if Mitt picked him for VP? I know it'd be weird but no more than RR picking GHW Bush Sr in 1980 after Bush called Reagan's economics "voo doo" economiics !! ... AND Reagan told Bush at a news conference during the primaries "to sit down and shut up" (over Bush protesting the inclusion of John Anderson to the event).
Santorum as VP might placate some of the TP-evangelical base and make Mitt more pallitable (If that's possible). Couldn't be as bad as Palin for VP. But on the other hand, it was Rick that really POed many women voters with his abortion and contraception stand.

I think the VP options are down to Rubio or Ryan. He needs creds among Hispanics and hardcore fiscal conservatives, but I don't see anyone that can give him both.

I predict Romney will choose Nikki Haley.
The gender gap, ethnic diversity, Tea Party and "Southern strategy" issues addressed all in one far-right Palinesque candidate who is currently a FoxNews darling.
Two duds as candidates in the 2012 election.Really a pathetic choice for the Republicans.Let Romney at least pick perhaps Rubio who has zest and a personality not Haley a mean and arrogant person.
