I'm still using the 'Mail' app under system 10.6.8 because I haven't upgraded to Lion yet on this old iMac. As of yesterday I can't connect to the IMAP server because it doesn't recognize my log in password. I haven't changed anything and I can get my e-mail on my iPad . What the heck is the problem?

I've had that problem now and again with Mail -- it simply refuses to recognize my password and repeatedly just asks for it again. In all cases, walking away and enjoying a refreshing beverage for a while fixed the problem ;-)

I think it's a server issue on Apple's part =)
Hmmm.... I hope someone fixes this soon.
I'm getting the message "The server returned the error: Moved: http://me.com/move".
