Having fun with the dictation feature on the new iPad
Found some tongue twisters .

The first in each twister is the correct twister, followed by the dictated version.

In the dictated part, to get the commas, quotation marks and new paragraphs, just say "quotation mars" or " new paragraph" for example.

Also in the above, this s as much on me as a speaker, as I've always had some speech problems. But that's okay because some are still funny.

Seriously, the feature handled words like "inexplicably" pretty well. Also differentiated between "wood" and "would" in context as I really don't pronounce them differently.

I will use this.

Dave.

I'm impressed!

I do not speak clearly and I talk to fast! South Jersey style where I grew up.

I think this would be a good exercise for me to improve my speaking clearly.

I just read yesterday about how politicians adjust their speech when going from the north U.S. to the Southern states. i.e. W would drop "ing" and just us "n". "doing" became "doin'" and so forth. I know it is over simplifying, I'm just saying what I read.

I've been know to utter, "Where you gone? [going] Jeet yet? [Did you eat yet?] Sup? [what's up?]

Anyway, I'm going to try all those later Dave. Thanks.

From what I've read ambient noise, clarity of dictation, and internet connection speed all affect the accuracy.

Don't know if my track record of purchases, or the Apple Care pushed it forward, but something changed it ! maybe they looked me up and found I was a stockholder? wink
I went for the 32Gb 4G black iPad. maybe they're not selling as many of those as the WiFi only or the smaller 4G.

Kate & Dave - have you used yours as a bed warmer yet ? laugh
