We moved the rest of our large furniture over the weekend and it was the same temp on Saturday, and a little 'warmer' on Sunday. Didn't have time to freeze with all the carrying and hauling stuff. Yesterday I then took two trips and a trailerload to the recycling center and it was equally cold.

I mentioned that the last few days have been unseasoly warm with highs in mid 60's and lows in high 40's F.
Well this evening after coming home from dinner I slipped into my lounging ants and just barely noticed the brown recluse spider in the wast band. So it's been warm enough to bring out the spiders already.

Only spiders I'd see around here at this time of the year would be daddy long legs or other indoor kinds, but none so far. The outdoor bugs are hibernating.

Sheez, I've been in slightly colder temps outside than that, but I wouldn't go skiing or golfing anymore. And we haven't had it that cold for a few winters now. IIRC the winter of 99 was the previous one.
Luckily, the Golf Stream mildens our winters here, but we get some Siberian cold spells, too, though their effect is the strongest along the eastern border. In fact, one is affecting at the moment taking the temps along the border down to -35 °C. Ahh, February.
The sun'll actually start warming a little more in a few weeks time so it can be -8 to -15 during the day and -20 to -35 during night.
