it was mentioned last Wed night when Boehner didn't poo-poo it immediately that maybe some new polls had been released to change their tune. Wellll . . This one shows 68% disapproval of the GOP in Congress and only 28% approve... that's lower than BO and even the Dems' ratings.. (NOT saying they're much better)
so the GOTP strategy of obstruction and "do nothing" until 2012 to turn this into another "debt ceiling" catastrophe to get elected is NOT going to work !!
Maybe this is going to get better after all. Not holding my breath, but this is NOT what I expected... Many had drunk the GOTP Kool-Aid so long I thought they were brain dead... apparently not. . . . at least many are FINALLY doing some critical thinking !!
The GOP Party is I think being controlled by the Tea Party. They are sinking themselves because they do not have a decent and valuable plan to present before the Congress and the Senate.Maybe John B is adhering to some of Obama's proposals he mentioned in his new economic policy.
Well to be fair BO has adopted some of the GOP's ideas. Before the House GOP just reversed their support on their own positions because BO said it, but now they appear to be more open. We'll see. I think they see they're worse off than BO as far as approval goes. Also maybe they heard from their constituents over the break. I know many AVOIDED town meetings or had them in only the most staunchly supportive venues (Palin's and Bachmann's house).
One of the progressive pundits said the Dems should come out with a huge tax cut plan for millionaires / billionaires and then the next day the GOP will want to tax the SHT outta them !
Don't know if you caught Cantor's comments the next day. He either doesn't or won't get it. Still ready to place any speed-bumps on the road that he can just to be an a-hole contrarian. If his statement that disaster aid can only occur if/when there are offsetting spending cuts elsewhere don't cost him his seat (and by "seat", I also mean "ass"), then I don't know what will.
