I am doing field inspections for this high rise developer. They bought 4 iPad 2s for us to use to log field reports. We then use drop box via wifi , the reports to a central location.

They use (QuickOffice Pro - HD) - The report templates are custom made XML sheets by a hot babe who majored in IT.

Anyway the problem is not major , just a little annoying.
When typing and you hit space bar the keyboard reverts to number board , you then have to bring back the letter board for the next word , then space and the number board comes back . Some times you can type in 4 words before this happens in the same cell.

Plus this does not always happen but its about 50% of the time.

There's something fishy goin' on around here.

Hitting the space bar does not bring up the numbers. However, to the right of the space bar is the button to switch to numbers.

So, either you are hitting that button on accident....

Or it's software problem.

Are you the only one experiencing this?

All 3 of us have that problem.

So if others here don't have that problem on their iPads , it must be a QuickOffice glitch ?

Seems to be a problem with QuickOffice. That post was made back in November, they don't seem to be in a hurry to fix it.

According to this, second post down, it has been a problem for well over a year.

If you Google QuickOffice spacebar there are quite a few with the same complaint.

Saw this in one of the links, may explain why it doesn't happen all of the time. It seems if you create the sheet on the iPad it doesn't do it.

This doesn't happen for a newly created sheet, only one you load.

That could be it - She did create the sheet on a Dell and then loaded it on the iPad.
