I got the 27" iMac refurbed from last year and I love it (as seen in the unboxing photos on FB). That 1 GB video card rocks playing all of the Steam games I have. I can't wait to max out the RAM to see what it can really do. But the screen...it is so beautiful...and I love the wireless mighty mouse or whatever they are calling it. Great mouse! Apple finally made a good one. And I swear it is much faster than my MacPro at work.

Still using my Wacom tablet. Haven't even opened the wireless keyboard and mouse. Just put in 8gb of ram for 12 total.
Get this… I have an old Bryce file I use a a test to see how fast my Mac runs. 12 years ago my G3 took 6 hours to render (which was normal). My G5 took 1 1/2 hours. This one took 40 seconds! ZOOM!

Wow, that is something. Imagine if the app was actually written for multiple processors too. It would take 5 or 10 seconds as compared to the original 6 hours. Mind boggling.

Carrara is the only one I've used. It renders in checkerboard blocks top left, across, then down the page.
One processor = one block = one block at a time. (G3/G4 400 Beige Frankenstein). Two processors = two blocks racing each other. (Dual 1.8 G5). Four processors = four blocks racing to the finish line. (4 core 2.7 i5 iMac). I used to stare at the progress bar blocks for hours, now it takes seconds. (Disclaimer ~ Not intended as factual)
It's like a game. I want to bet on which block finishes first.
The performance is awesome, the screen is awesome… I just hope it's durable. I haven't signed up for Apple Care, but will before the year ends.

Wow! So many views! Had I known, I would have recommended a good book or movie!
What can I say? I love this machine. Is it okay to love a machine? I have been experimenting with so many things I've never attempted before. The Terminal, multiple users, partitions with different startup OS's…
Aside from a few newbie mistakes, this is the best computer I've ever owned. (It better be!)
