The story so far…

My 2004 Power Mac G5 tower finally died.
RIP.

I now have a brand new 27" i5 iMac!
Thanks to MobileMe and Carbon Copy Cloner, I'm up and running in about an hour.
I created three partitions on the hard drive. One for Snow Leopard, one for Lion, one for possibly Windows or Linux. Hope I'm doing this right…

I'll have many questions to ask later on, but it sure is nice to be back.
I'm loving ever minute!

Thanks laugh
This thing is great!

The size is a little intimidating.
I feel like I'm front row center in an IMAX movie.
This thing is huge (But I think I can get used to it!) grin

Don't be jealous.
When the time comes when you have to buy a new Mac, WE will be jealous!
wink

(P.S. I love this thing! Is it OK to love a piece of machinery?) blush

Edit: Hi Zach. Yep! I'm, used to it! grin

Steeeeeeellllllllaaaaaa!
Naw, just kidding. I can't tell you what I named it. Obama might be listening.
wink
Just want to say that I've never had an OSX Mac that opened programs with less than a bounce in the Dock.
Very cool

I do have a lot of questions, but I'll wait until Lion.

You'll still be around here, right Reboot?
smile

Late to the thread...

CONGRATS!!!

I'm not sure how fast your G5 was... but there is no doubt that the speed increase is pretty dramatic.

In another thread you participated in, someone described the size and speed of some of these new machines as "overkill." They were right too. But I'm here to tell everyone that overkill is a very beautiful thing!
