Not sure where to post this…
My Boss has a Kindle, my Manger has an iPad v1. I was put in charge of sharing my boss's Kindle books with my managers iPad.
After reading the instructions for the transfer (what a concept), navigation on the iPad was light years ahead, I have to admit, reading text seemed easier to read on the Kindle.
I won't go on, but I just wanted to say my first experience with an iPad was awesome. Navigation is different than my iPod touch v2, so I did have a bit of a learning curve, but I managed to do everything I wanted to in the 3 hours I had it.
Made me think twice about the worth of this thing.

Let me put it this way… I spent as much time entering the name and password on the Kindle, as I spent managing Amazon on Safari, reading the agreement in Mail, accepting, downloading the App, downloading the books, as I did on the iPad. It was awesome.
Everyone was impressed, but I doubt they could do it themselves.
The only negative was I had to get the iPad on the correct reflection, under the fluorescent lights, for everyone to be able to see what I was doing. Glare was definitely a problem with multiple people.

I love my iPad. I am definitely addicted to it. Not sorry, at all, that I bought it last August instead of waiting until March for version 2.
But... I was at my grand daughter's soccer match the other day and during half time thought i would read my book. The glare in the bright sun light was so bad I gave up.
Not really sure what you mean by "transfer", as you don't have to touch the kindle at all. Just download the kindle app to the ipad (or iphone, or off the Mac App store, or stick it on your Droid), enter your bosses logon info and you're reading the books on the iPad.
There's no way I'd read books on an iPad though. For books, Kindle is the way to go, the screen is pretty much like reading a paper book because it's reflective. I haven't played around with the 2nd gen iPad but the screen on the 1st Gen is just too coarse for me, it gives me a headache. Plus the Kindle battery lasts like a month.

I agree about easier reading, but ugh, I hate my kindle because of navigation on it absolutely sucks. Make it a touch screen and it'll be a lot better.
