I don't know when it happens, sometimes when i'm adding a response or a new thread, or sometimes just when loading a new page, but lately it seems that there is a hang in the forums. Goes to a certain point and then stalls.

Actually, not the case -- just not sure what this is. It happened last week at some point and we were watching an attempted DDOS attack, but then it subsided. And, I'm not seeing the slow downs.
Me either, I rarely do. I know that's about as helpful as pointing out the haystack around the needle, but since I'm dumber than dirt about anything related to the intertubes, you may consider my input as such. Maybe everybody who's experiencing slow downs could move to Houston. We could seriously party.

FF 4 sits spinning "connecting to www.MacTech.com" for several minutes at a time. Also, some ads are overlapping the forum text areas. It's not consistent from one minute to the next though.

I'm thinking there is a DNS outage either locally or regionally. I'm also having loading issues with forecast.weather.gov. All other sites are OK, though.

Day 2 here. I've tried several DNS servers to no avail. Both these forums and the main www.mactech.com sites are the only sites that are having problems loading for me. Safari is behaving the same.

MacBozo,
I believe that this case is isolated to your setup. Does anyone else see the same thing? Need some more data points to know, but I'm thinking there's something specific on your computer (the pings aren't great, but aren't horrible).
Okay, a kind of strange thing happened when trying to troubleshoot Michael's problem. I did a dscacheutil -flushcache as I was going to recommend that to him. After that I couldn't get here or anything AppleCentral. Any other site I went to was fine though.
I remoted in to a different computer that is offsite and was able to get here from the offsite machine. I had to reboot my computer to clear things up.
After rebooting I tried a dscacheutil -flushcache again and everything is fine this time. Something funny with DNS somewhere.

It seems to be getting worse on my end. I haven't changed anything in my system in the last few days. I had a FF hang on "waiting for users.woway.com" (net - I forgot, now). Had to close FF and relaunch.

Yeah -- this really smells of Internet connectivity, as it's been completely fine for me the entire time ... and I'm *NOT* on the same LAN as any of the necessary servers, so it's basically the same for me as it is for everyone else.

I'm currently in Safari on my "Emergency Boot" partition/drive and no problems loading at the moment. I seem to be having some issues with my internal drive, but it checks out OK with Disk Utility and DW. Still, it just doesn't seem right to me - some apps behaving poorly.
