So, channel 8 still remains the most trouble free and fastest channel for my router that is supplying wireless internet/network access to my wife's Mini. I had to change my AP Express to channel 9 when channel 7 began to be unreliable, but channel 9 is only marginally better. I'm assuming that if I set the AP Express to channel 8, it would interfere with the other router/network. Am I assuming correctly? I'm only 802.11g, 2.4 GHz capable here - no 802.11n, 5 GHz capabilities.

Not necessarily. It's such a crap shoot with congested wireless areas. When you say the other router/network do you mean your router or a neighbor's?

It's too bad you can't go 5Ghz, I've seen it solve interference problems every time. The 2.4 band is so saturated. Can you run a cable instead of wireless?

The dLink router is for our home network and my wife's wireless connection. She is wireless because she wanted to do away with the ethernet cable in the room where her computer is. The AP Express is just for my iTunes streaming to the living room stereo.
