I can't get my wife's Mini to eject the DW CD from the drive. It only wants to boot from the CD. Holding down Option on reboot has no effect. Holding down the mouse button on reboot has no effect. I suppose I could move an external drive that has a 10.6.5 bootable partition to it and try that. This is perplexing, since I can't get anything by holding down the Option key at startup - I get nothing from doing that.

That would be my gues. Once you start in FWTD mode.. the cd will mount on the other Macs desktop.
Or... if you aren't afraid to open it up... I found this on the net..
Nothing digital worked with my PPC Mac mini and an audio CD that OS X would not even recognize as there, much less eject.
Since the top was off anyway to replace the hard drive, I decided to take the top off the combo CD/DVD drive. Nothing could have been simpler. I just removed four tiny Phillips screws on the sheet-metal top and two slightly larger ones on the side next to the RAM. The cover then slipped off and the CD was easily removed. Since the drive doesn't have a mechanical eject, I suspect this is the fix for a stuck CD/DVD that engineers built into their design.
On a side note.. the optical drives name Mats us hita gets censored....lol

It's an external HD that I would attach to it. If the external HD isn't seen, I guess I'll have to open up the Mini to see if I can get at it that way.

Try a, PMU, SMU, SMC or whatever reset, all depending on the model (I forget which model it is) as to what they call it.
Unplug all USB except the keyboard, try the mouse only next. Maybe one of those is flaky.
Trying the external drive at the moment. I'll try the USB switch around if that fails to produce anything. The only USB connections are the kb (mouse connected to kb) and the UPS.
