Cool
I have never played that game. In fact the only disk game I have and play once in awhile id Age of Empires II, written for OSX 10.0 <-- amazing enough still plays on 10.5.6.

Yeah, kind of similar. Both are strategies but Civs are turn based and have involved a whole lot more micro-management than AOEs. I like the AOEs as well, but real-time strategies are a bit more hectic.
I liked Civ II but hated III. My son says to date II and IV are the best and III sucked. I think I might try Civ V... I love the game but it can take 20-25 hours to play one completely.
RoNations only takes 90-120 min . . on the tough mode.

Yep, I skipped Civ III almost completely as well. Played a few rounds on a friend's computer but that was it.
I remember how I was immersed with Civ I as a kid, II had the same magic plus a little more. Civ IV has been awesome as well, and also a whole different game, pretty much none of the old methods work in it. Lot of days spent with that game. Now the new stuff in combat and the game mechanisms in Civ V seem very interesting.

Short for Age Of Empires. Turn based, like board games for instance, each player makes all their moves during a turn and then wait for other players' moves.
My favorite real-time strategy is Madden NFL, though.
Mic... I just tried Civ IV (son had it) Sunday and it's pretty engrossing... can't wait for V though. I believe the graphics on IV is stunning and all the new options (units, technologies, buildings, etc),,, almost overwhelming ! I like complexity, but there is a saturation point. I don't want to have to row every ship I have on the ocean !
