Download the beta [I just installed it] and call me at starmillway @ mac com. I'm not big on long conversations but would like to say "hey there" at least.
You have to have the lates version of Mac OS or iPhone 4 or iPod Touch latest.
okay, i just had a lovely chat with Kate. i've known her at least 12 years and we finally talked face to face for the first time using FaceTime. very enjoyable. neat lady.
Marg said she used it recently, she mentioned its better than iChat. I think she said more on screen options? ?
It seemed so familiar and friendly to have FSM pop up on my screen as I was reading a political forum on MacRumors! First time we've ever spoken to each other Face to Face and it was very easy and enjoyable.
I think older folks like grandparents, moms and dads, will find this a lot easier to use than iChat. I didn't even have it turned on and FSM picture came up with an option for me to accept or not accept the connection. The reception was clear and not any interference of any kind at all.
I used starmill way address, but there is an option to add any other email addresses you may wish to use.
i didn't have Kate in my list of people to contact and i couldn't see a way to add her from within F.T., so i added her to my address book and then she showed up right in F.T.
i'd like to see them include an "Add Contact" right in F.T. for the final release. but otherwise, it was pretty swell. i did notice that to hang up you have to mouse over the screen and the end button will pop up at the bottom. that was readily apparent when we were ready to end our call and i figured it out by fiddling. then again, it's nice having the whole picture showing with nothing covering the person you're talking to.
