Expect my iPad tomorrow and was wondering how you all carry your ipad? Do you ha keep it in a regular case with all your other important tuff or do you have it in it's own carry case or a sleeve of some sort.
i was thinking of getting a generic case from someplace like Case Logic as I don't regularly carry another type of brief case or the like. Don't carry my camera bag regularly either but they are not set up for a laptop or iPad

I use the same thing I use for my MacBook Air, the most lightweight high tech completely antitheft container out there.
It is called, "the interoffice envelope". I usually try to find one that is used a lot with some addresses already on it. I tape the corners and address it to myself. That way if I leave it in a meeting someone will mail it to me.
1) You cannot find anything more lightweight and why buy an MBA or an iPad if you don't want to keep it light.
2) Relatively inexpensive. I get mine for free since I get junk mailed to me by interoffice all the time but you can buy brand new ones at 35 cents a pop. But it really is better to visit an office and borrow a used one.
3) Antitheft. Absolutely no thief is going to think there is anything of value inside and interoffice mailer.
And last but not least,
4) Shock effect. Sit down and pull out you interoffice mailer, yawn, then slip that iPad out and watch the jaws drop.
My daughter has an Apple flip folder which protects the screen and it's OK but the mailer cannot be beat. I use it for about three months then pick up a new (used) one.
I have seen and held the Apple iPad case and found it to be pretty nice. It wasn't my iPad, so I can't tell you how it is to use on a daily basis or how long it lasts, but it sure does look nice.

I like my Apple case a lot. It protects good but the drawback is that it has microsuede fiber. Looks good but shows marks. I started wiping it with one of those glass cleaners that are the soft cloth. Good for the screen and the nap of the case. I have carried like a notebook with no problems. People in the know spot them, others don't. I am going to try to find a leather backpack purse to carry it in. But I would leave the cover on. Keeps it from slipping form my hands.
I did have a toddler try to lift it at IHOP. Here's the picture (says it's a public link let's see if it works)

Yes, it is the shortest distance. See: Great Circle Route.
When I went to Viet Nam, we went from San Fransisco - Hawaii - Philippines - Saigon. Took forever! Leaving Viet Nam, we went Saigon - Hong Kong - Tokyo - Anchorage - San Fransisco. That was much quicker.

I frequent a coffee shop with my Kindle. I prop it on my fanny pack on the table at a comfortable reading angle. I've noticed a couple who each have an iPad and read. Their cases are nice. After you open the front [like the cover of a hard back book] they can then bend it so that it is at a comfortable situation for reading and having hands free to eat a bagel and handle the cup of coffee.

I have had it a bit now and simply love this iPad.
But it is pretty slick for my neuropathy affected fingers s will need a case of some kind. Now I have it in a large envelope that Blue Cross sent me. Pretty safe from thieves in that but need something else.
Rather serious about having a case that also hold my new Panny LX5 when get it Friday(hope)

Glad to hear you are liking it. I know there are even some cases with straps you slide your hand behind. Or any of those silicone cases should be grippy too.
OtterBox. Its the bomb. It has a full rubber surround, followed by a hard case. Accidentally dropped it the other day, and no damage at all. Was extremely happy with it. They even have a option that has a stand built in, and you supposedly can REALLY drop it...
