I think Pittsburgh is a beautiful city, with lots of neat geography, good entertainment, and great cultural institutions. Did you get to see the pictures at the top of the incline that showed the city before the clean air act had its effect? What a difference, eh?

My dad told me how the city used to have grit on the pavement and it was like sand was everywhere (it wasn't sand, but whatever from the steel mills) and how bad the air was. Pittsburgh used to be known as a dirty city.
