Do you guys find the burning utilities built into the OS not adequate or not as useful or flexible?

Toast is much more flexible and has more options for burning/authoring formats (you can also burn multiple copies more efficiently, too).

I use Toast 5.2 to occasionally dupe an audio CD. I don't think you can do that using the burning utilities built into the OS. confused

Not to sound like a commercial, but I've always been satisfied with Toast, and it's great if you have a reason to use it.

Data:
Mac only
Mac and PC
DVD- ROM
ISO
Photo Disc

Audio:
CD
Music DVD
MP3
Enhanced ACD

Video:
Video CD
SVD
DVD-Video
VIDEO-TS Folder
DivX

Copy:
Disc Copy
Image File
Bind-Cue Files
Disc Image Files

All of them have many options in a very (maybe old school) Mac UI.

I use it for backing up VIDEO-TS folders, deleting unused languages, previews, etc.
It's an alternative to iDVD with appealing menus and themes.
I use a lot of provided templates to make cheesy slideshows and movies for the relatives, but could be refined with effort.
Video CD's are great for small size content. Why use a DVD for 10 minutes of content that can fit on a CD?
I've had great luck with VCD.

Physical Media isn't dead yet.

Etc., etc.…

To me the options are worth it.
