in a race all the way around Cape Ann. It turns out that there are a bunch of fanatics (250 boats) that do this. I was in an 18 year old polypropylene kayak and finished. Finished fast enough that three Ipswich IPAs and a pork sandwich were waiting.
I was trying to think what doesn't hurt a bit. My fingers are spaz as they were for the last hour of the race.
My hair hurts. But it's a good hurt. I went all the way around.
Amazingly bounced out of bed at 5AM and went fishing then blueberry picking. There are only 363 days until the next Blackburn Challenge. Got to start training now. I finished. My next goal is to finish in front of someone. I saw quite a few people flame out but I might have been the last one to officially cross the line.
My wife has screen captures of mobileme "find my iPhone" as I go around. Made good time then hit the chop and swells on the underside of the Cape and blew a seal. As in hit a wall.
I have been trolling for fish in my SitonTop. I've got a milk crate strapped in behind my seat with PVC pipe in the corners for rod holders. Works great except I haven't caught anything but the bottom.
I do have pics of the race. Friends snapped some from shore in different places. They haven't been posted yet.
