It's the old Ruby model, I have no idea what the specs are. It only needs an OS, and I have 3 to choose from. 9.1, 10.2, and 10.3.

I was thinking of using it for music and some simple picture scanning with the scanner that I have.

Which OS should I put on it?

Any idea how much RAM? You probably might try 9.1 first to see how much RAM is in it. It would be the quickest to install.

You need at least 128M to run 10.3.9.

10.3.9 then. It can do 10.4.11 too if it has Firewire ports and 256M. I think that's the DV model. smile

Then, it should be this one:

Apple iMac G3/400 DV (Slot Loading - Fruit) Specs

Standard shipping RAM was 64 MB.

It's not a fruit color, it's deep red.

That's hard to tell, but it may be a Ruby one:

That one shipped with 64MB ram too but who's to say it wasn't upgraded?
