Unbelievable. It's now the 4th generation of this phone and it still creates such an unprecedented demand.
I was trying to pre-order one today and was met with nothing but frustration. I tried all 3 options from early morning to early afternoon. Finally, my wife was able to get through and order one. We think.
Because of the incredible interest in iPhone 4, today was the busiest online sales day in AT&T history. As of Tuesday afternoon, customers who preorder iPhone 4 moving forward will receive their device on June 25 or later, depending on when the order is placed. We'll email customers with confirmation once their order is placed, and again when it ships. In addition, we will have devices available on a first-come, first-serve basis in our stores beginning on June 24."

Well, we're getting our first iPhone er, the WIFE is. I was still having problems getting through at ~5 p.m. on Apple's site. Luckily mine still said it'll deliver on the 24th. Although an hour or so later they changed to July 2.
It's amazing - 5 UK carriers will have the iPhone 4, and none of them are saying what it'll cost yet... carrier wars might mean a better deal for the UK users, at last.
I'm fighting (losing?) an internal battle - if the range was going to include a 16Gb 3GS, I'd go for one of those, but they're only going to do an 8. And what's wrong with the phone I've got? Nothing except I want it to be faster. Sigh.
