Fantastic
June is a good time and kinda off season so air fares should be a little cheaper by then.

Worth trying to save some big bucks.
Go via to Hawaii from Las Vegas on Hawaiian airlines.
My daughters round trip to Vegas was only 400 bucks hotel and meals included. Just work it the opposit direction.

So you fly into Vegas.
Then book a round trip back to Vegas on Hawaiian. Might work.
Since those package tours work on the premise that you stay at the Freemont or California hotel you might have to stay in Vegas for a day or 2 to qualify for the low fares.

In general those hotels subsidize the airline thinking, and its true that the hotels Will make its money back when you lose your arse gambling there. So don't gamble and take advantage of the cheap airfair and free meals.

Anyway check into it - I would - You get a double vacation - Hawaii and Vegas.

We will love to have ya stay here.
Plus my daughters friends are all island girls and all single.

Oooh
Pack warm.
Few Tee shirts, couple blue Jeans, a pair of sneakers and ya good to go - so carry on bags is all you need. We will get the pair of Rubber Slippers here for 99 cents when you arrive. Designer rubber slippers cost 2.25 if you want those.

See I am already having fun

Heh..sounds good. I will check into flying out of Vegas. I'm not into gambling at all..and I don't know if I could stand a day in Vegas. I think the desire to head on over would be too great.

Ok..now you got me thinking way too much about this LOL
And I think your daughter and her friends would find me to be old..38.

Hey John, glad to see this is going to happen for you with Carp and going to Oahu. Having a local there to give you all the inside info on stuff will be great, the only way to go.

I know Carp will give you the lowdown on all the great places to go to. A few of my own suggestions:

Hanauma Bay just to the east of Honolulu has some very nice snorkeling.

Highway 83 along the eastern coast is a great ride, very scenic. Kailua and Kaneohe Bay are just lovely.

Along the North Shore, Waimea is one place where those huge waves are, but those are usually only in the winter. Awesome sight, also just a great place to hang and soak up the local flavor.

Lots of military history there as well as you already know. Pearl Harbor, Schofield Barracks.

I drove out to the western shore too, but it is not that interesting. That is also on the dry side of the island as I recall, not very lush on that side.

Well, have fun! 38 isn't that old, who knows what might happen over there with the local ladies. You never know!
