Now I'm looking at going to the opposite coast, LA or Seattle.

Either place offers the convenience of friends where I can stay with. So..who's from either of those places? (leaning more towards Seattle)

In reply to:

Wow..tickets are only $593 to Honolulu!

Yo Carp

From your other thread John. I'd go to Hawaii over LA and Seattle any day. Maybe Carp will offer you refuge there? Oahu is a pretty nice island and you have some city to check out too.

Hope you get it figured out.

Seattle=rainy, LA=traffic and smog, Honolulu=paradise. No brainer.

Yeah..Honolulu would be awesome. But I was kidding about asking Carp. I wouldn't want to inconvenience anyone.

And thought I'd clarify what I said in this first post above...I'm not hoping people here would put me up, I was just asking who was from that area in case wanted to meet.

Actually, I hear Seattle and the surrounding area is really nice and not as rainy as some say. My coworker is moving out there this fall and his pics of the area are beautiful.

I agree with Mike, Hawaii is a no-brainer. On the other hand, Seattle is a beautiful city. LA should be off your radar and if you are thinking of Calif, San Diego is the place. It is beautiful and you have lots to do there. La Jolla is worth the trip alone.
There is always Texas. ( the same invite is open)

Well, Hawaii itself would be way too expensive hotel wise. And I'm only taking a 5 day vacation. If I had friends or family there, I would be gone in a heartbeat!

The reason I picked LA and Seattle is that I have friends in Seattle I can stay with, and family of my sister in law in LA.

Houston is definately on the list too..I will make arrangements for that too.

Seattle is nice too, but the weather can be uncooperative to say the least. I love the Northwest, very scenic and green. Maybe Bill will put you up? He lives there you know and he has a few extra rooms from what I hear.

I bet Carp would accomodate you, just seems like the kind of person that would do such a thing.

Have you ever thought about making it a camping trip? That would be a cheap way to go in Hawaii.

Yeah, San Diego is nice too. Southern California is nice, but it sure gets crowded with tourists in June. Newport Beach and points south as far as San Diego are the places to go, LA itself is kind of sucky IMO.

But, California is nice in general. Northern California has its charms too. San Francisco and north of there into the redwoods and the wine country. Used to live there, very scenic and worth the visit.

Las Vegas has changed a LOT since you were there last John. It has changed a lot since we got married there in 1995. We have been back twice in the last 2 years or so and it changed a lot just in that time. Not into gambling either and 1-2 days of Las Vegas is about all we can handle.
