LOL, well it has been through some traveling, but I would expect better from Apple.
They seem to make crappy cables. Like their mice, to this day they have refused to ever put a cable strengthener at that point. Something not as stiff as the exit point, but stiffer than the cable, and tapering smaller on down the cable a short ways, so there wouldn't be a specific stress point.
