Can one stream music played on an iPad to an Apple TV or an airport express connected to a home stereo? That's what I do with my laptop, and it is a function that I like very much.

What about home sharing? It would be very useful to have my main computer behave as a music server for an iPad (or my iPhone for that matter-- which is unfortunately not possible at this writing). Just wondering... I'm thinking that for what it costs and how little storage even the top of the line model has, this functionality should be a no brainer.

Anyone who has purchased the device care to comment?

There does not appear to be a sharing option on the iPad. I could be wrong, but looking at the preferences I don't see where one would enable that.

Although my impression is that the iPad is meant to be a receiver and not a server ... so I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't have that capability ;-)
