Pings are good. There is that little delay (about 3 - 5 seconds for me today) between clicking something and when the page begins to load.

So, apparently, there's some nastiness out on the net today between the providers, and this may be causing issues. Let's see how it continues over the days to come. I'm actually out of town right now anyway, and it's a bit harder for me to look at things.
I got the same times as Michael from 4 different locations plus here at home, around 80 ms. All connections are at least 8 down and 1 up. I tried a couple of places I manage remotely too out of state. I disconnected while the ping ran BTW so my remote desktop connection wasn't interfering.
It seems things load in pieces, like they are coming from different places. The logo always comes in first and fast, then I'm waiting on the rest of the page. I've noticed over the last few weeks it's one of the slower sites I go to. Sometimes it loads okay, maybe it's from cache or something, but usually it lags.
I have tried different DNS servers too, no difference.
Running speedtest.net to San Francisco from here I do get the same ping time as MacTech, but the page draws are much slower than many places, CNN, MacWorld, RipDifferent, Roxio to name recent ones, probably 3-5 seconds extra time to load the forums, sometimes more, compared to loading in maybe 2 or 3 other places.
I notice the same too. I can click the forum at home, then 2 or 3 other bookmarks afterwards and those other tabs are up and loaded before AppleCentral begins to draw.

Ditto. Editing a post seems to take forever, though my ping is showing faster speeds than the rest of you (not surprisingly, given my location). Here's what I get from SF (Comcast):

Checking in from Houston ~ It's not always as snappy as it could be, but I'm not getting any of the "painfully slow" load times some of y'all are. And we have so-so DSL ~ AT&T ~ FWTW.
I'm way too technically challenged about intertube stuff to make any intelligent observations, though, so that's all I got.
