OSX 10.5.8 My Mail application (with .Mac account) on my iMac will no longer send email. I haven't knowingly changed anything with the account. When I want to send a new email or reply to an email the Send icon is grayed out.
As shown in the following account screenshot, there is nothing shown in the outgoing SMTP server box. I think this should be filled in (it is on my MacBook). If so, I can't figure out how to do it or how it got changed. <...open in new window.
Help please.

Your outgoing mail server is blank, drjohn. Click the pop up menu and type in the address, which should be smtp.me.com:username, where "username" is the part of the email address before the @.

Thanks, AL. I cant tell where to type in the info. Clicking on that "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): menu that says "None" has "Edit Server List..." as the only choice. Clicking on that doesn't bring up anyplace to enter the SMTP info that I can see.

When you clicked Edit didn't the window below come up?
Put whatever you want in Description, Server name is smtp.me.com. Under Advanced choose Authentication/Password and enter your user name and password. Your user name is your full .mac email address.
Why the server went away I don't know, but I've seen it happen. Sometimes you have to quit Mail and relaunch it for your settings to take hold, don't know why there either but it works.
