Apple has released 10.6.3 v1.1. If SU doesn't get it, go get the combo updater at Apple. I had to do the combo updater route. Seems all is OK after the update.
It appears not all parts of the update install. It only happens if you updated from 10.6.0 right to 10.6.3, but they put it in SU for all machines that it might affect.
Jerry, that question belongs in the AppleWorld forum since it's a rumor one and it's not related to this topic. You probably will get more answers there.
