Al-Marri, a citizen of Qatar, is serving eight years in prison after pleading guilty last year to conspiring to support terrorism. He was arrested after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, accusing him of being a sleeper agent researching poisonous gases and plotting a cyberattack.

Only 8 years <-- what ?
Good thing he did not rob a bank that would be 10 to 15 years , I guess planing mass murder is more like a 3rd DWI offense .

The visit with such a high-profile prisoner suggests that Al-Madadi would have been very aware of terrorism concerns when he sneaked into the plane's bathroom for a smoke

Now this is very telling .

1 - My understanding is that Muslims don't smoke , something about polluting the deity body temple , or was that a Christian thing ?

2 - He being a diplomat , I would think he is smart enough to know that all restrooms have SMOKE DETECTORS for that very very reason , then try and sneak off to have a puff ? <--- something is very wrong with that excuse .

3 - Maybe the airlines should charge for Biffy Dutty , just might curb dumb arse excuses from Diplomats with mysterious intents .
